Michael Lalande - Director CEO
​Mike brings over 22 years of experience in law enforcement, with a specialization in Risk Assessment, Management, Cyber Forensics, Policy Development, Critical Incident Command, and Human Resources Management. Mike has held executive roles in global Fintech, where he built tech stacks for automated processes, investigative workflows, and cross-functional team integration, enhancing organizational efficiency. An accomplished public speaker, Mike has also led strategic, organization-wide learning initiatives designed to upskill and enhance knowledge across teams. His extensive experience and leadership make him a driving force behind Stormbreaker's commitment to excellence in cybersecurity and compliance.
Dr. Michael Nesbitt - Director
Michael Nesbitt is a professor of law at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law, where he researches, publishes, speaks, and teaches in the areas of national security, cybersecurity, criminal law, Canadian sanctions, supply chain compliance and import/export restrictions. For the past three years he has acted as the special advisor to the university’s Vice-President, Research, in the area of research security, an area that includes threat assessment and mitigation planning.
Michael has consulted for governments, think tanks, universities, and private businesses at the intersection of national and cyber security, sanctions laws and compliance, and criminal threat mitigation and response. He also continues to work in criminal law and litigation. He has previously worked as a diplomat for Global Affairs Canada where he specialized in international law, geopolitical and terrorist threats, and sanctions. Before that he was a lawyer for Canada’s Department of Justice as well as the United Nations at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. Michael holds an SJD (University of Toronto, Faculty of Law), an LL.M. (NYU), an LL.B. (University or Ottawa), and a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) (Queen's University).
Jeremy Wittman - Director
Jeremy Wittman is an authentic, values-based executive leader with over 25 years experience in law enforcement and digital forensics. With a Bachelor of Arts in History and Sociology from the University of Calgary, Jeremy has developed and implemented visionary programs and policies within Law Enforcement including Counter-Terrorism, Internal Affairs, and Cyber/Forensic Sections.
Known for his supportive, democratic, and humorous leadership style, Jeremy excels in influencing and inspiring teams to achieve shared goals. His career highlights include managing multi-million dollar budgets, court qualification as an expert in digital forensics, and proficiency in a wide range of forensic software, forensic analysis, lab design and construction.
Jeremy holds Top Secret Clearance and has completed advanced coursework with prestigious organizations such as the United States Secret Service, the FBI, and the Canadian Police College.
